This is a great little breathalyzer that actually works! Finally a company has produced a keychain breathalyzer that is accurate and easy to use. I have tried some keychain units in the past and there were useless. This one will actually display the digits for your readout instead of some flashing lights. Works great
With my daughter's 21st birthday coming up, I wanted to get her a breathalyzer. I bought this one based on all of the positive reviews and have not been disappointed. The keychain size is perfect for fitting into her purse which means it's always with her. It appears to be very accurate. Very Accurate Breathalyzer
I purchased the BacTrack S80 in August from amazon and I am extremely pleased with the product. First and probably most important, it seems to give very accurate results. Three years ago I received one of those cheap keychain units as a gift and it read all over the map and never worked well. Here, with this product, if I test myself 3 times in a row I get the same test result 3 times, so you know it's consistent. And if I test a sober person and then a very drunk person, there is no crossover or contamination, which is something I worried about (and really researched) before this purchase. So $199 is not cheap, but you get what you pay for here in terms of accuracy.Besides being happy with the accuracy, I really like the small size. I have an LG Envy phone and the Bactrack S80 is almost the same size. I didn't consider size prior to my purchase, but because it's portable, I'm much more likely to take the BacTrack out when I drink, which is really the whole point of...

i was pleasantly surprised
After girlfriend got a DUI, I bought her one of these. She was skeptical, but after testing it many nights in a row (drinking in the name of research of course), we were pleasantly surprised to find it very accurate. It's expensive but its absolutely worth it for the quality. I can't believe that the police are the only ones who have access to these. By the time you're using it with a cop, its usually too late. FYI - the instructions say that you want to wait 15 to 20 minutes after you've had a drink, otherwise it'll pick up the alcohol still in your mouth and read too high.The one I ordered came promptly with nice packaging. I'm here on Amazon because I'm ordering another one for myself.

"Better safe then sorry", is the reason I picked up the S80. I used the analyzer a couple of times and the results have always been consistent; even with three people using it with different BAC during the same period. The S80 comes with it's own case and 6 individually wrapped mouthpieces. So it is best to pick up the 10 pack of mouthpieces , because as soon as your friends find out you have a breath analyzer at a party they are going to want to use it. Also, you should get an extra set of battery and put it in the case, just in case the day you want to use it and the batteries are dead.According to the instructions, do not use breath analyzer until it has been 20 minutes since the last drink/food has been consumed. Very useful tool - MUST use properly
At first I was skeptical, but after learning how to use it, I don't go out without it. The key is you must wait 15 or so minutes AFTER your last drink, or it will give you inconsistent results. Too soon after and the alcohol won't be in your lungs, or there may be a drop right on your tongue which sends the reading too low or high. This is in the instruction booklet which I'm surprised I actually opened.Anyway - this has become a great conversation point at bars. I've had plenty of people come up to me and ask to try it. It turns into a nice social item for getting to know people who you would have never met before. It also keeps me in check as I get close to leaving any bar. This isnt the cure to DUI's or dangerous drivers, but it certainly helps. Top to learn more

Probably saved me from a DWI
I bought this a few weeks ago, stuck it in my car and forgot about it. Some friends and I went out to celebrate their anniversary and I thought for sure that when we left the restaurant that we were able to drive home. We all decided to give the bactrack a try and sure enough, we were all around 0.09 which is above the legal limit. We took a cab instead and saw a DWI checkpoint going on a few miles from the restaurant. This baby probably saved us from a DWI and possibly saved our lives. I'll never leave home without it! Good Breathalyzer
I think this breathalyzer is excellent! The results are right where I expected them to be depending on how much I had to drink. Much better than a DUI!I have two suggestions for getting an accurate reading:1. Do not take a deep breath before blowing into the breathalyzer. All that extra air will dilute the alcohol vapor that goes into the analyzer.2. When blowing into the breathalyzer, try your best to capture the end of your breath. That will give you a much more accurate reading. Think about it . . . it makes sense . . . you would want to measure the alcohol deep in your lungs to get the best results. I've tried it using the first part of my breath one day and got a reading of .056, a minute later, using the "deep lung" air, the reading was .078. Trust me . . . the cops will take the "deep lung" air for the test if you're pulled over. Top to learn more
Sobering Results!
I purchased this Breathalyzer over others, as its accuracy is FDA certified. The fuel sensor is the same used by police and the battery is long lasting. When I tried it, I was stupefied by the results. After turning on the button, it simply asks you to WAIT, then it will beep and ask you to BLOW into the small hole for four seconds (four beeps) until a solid beep occurs. After a minute or so, your test results will appear. I intentionally measured two shots of vodka with a tall soda mix and drank it over a 30-minute time slot. Then I waited 20 minutes. My blood alcohol level was 0.11 and I felt absolutely sober! 0.08 is the legal limit in most states. Your blood alcohol will not change if you eat or drink water or coffee. Only time will eliminate alcohol from your system. It took nearly 70 minutes before I was under 0.08. That was very scary. I checked my blood alcohol several times and the results were very steady. A very good product but with 3 minor caveats
The "Breathkey" is a very compact, light and convenient device. It seems accurate and gives me a reading in line with how I feel. It reads out in thousandths of a percent - there's a world of difference between 0.081% and 0.079% in terms of a DUI. I like it more the longer I own it. I have just purchased a second BreathKey to keep in my car, whilst the other one lives in my briefcase. I live in the Sonoma Wine Country and go on a lot of tastings. I now find I spit much more wine than I'll swallow.(As an aside, I have a "friend" who suggests it's small enough to keep in my "pocket protector" with all of my pens.)Caveats-1) I've noticed that the first result often differs from subsequent results, so I always test twice and believe the highest reading.2) You must wait 20 minutes after you finish a drink to use it. The residual alcohol in your mouth will otherwise give a false high reading (as would, I assume, a police unit).2)... Top to learn more

Seems accurate and it's easy to use
I mainly bought this for peace of mind when I have a party at my place and want to make sure people who've been drinking and think they're ok to drive really are. My family and friends and I have been trying it out at various times (when we don't plan to drive) during small parties/bbqs. The main trick is to make sure you haven't *just* taken a sip of alcohol. This throws off the breathalyser because it senses the alcohol in your mouth and not in your system. You'll get an above average reading in this case. To make sure the reading is accurate, you can rinse out your mouth and wait fifteen minutes or so (no drinks) and test again. At that point, I've always found it to be believable. This unit has a countdown after you turn it on and tells you when it's ready. It also beeps after you've breathed in it long enough to get a good reading (about 5 seconds). It comes with a few plastic mouthpiece covers. This seems to be plenty because they can be washed and reused. So, I didn't purchase... Top to learn more

Accurate and East to Use!
I decided to purchase the S75 after my sister gave me an old breathalyzer she had received from Sharper Image or a store like it. I definitely saw the value in using a breathalyzer when going out and having any amount of alcohol to drink, but the results I got were all over the map, so I questioned its accuracy. That meant it was time for a new purchase!I checked out a number of brands and models of Breathalyzers and went with the S75. This model is one of the "professional" models from Bactrack, so it's the same technology used by law enforcement. More than the fact that sounds good -- it really works! I have used it - actually I have purposely tested it, in different circumstances and over time and results are accurate and consistent.
